Education Leadership Grants Program
Purpose
To support employees who serve in volunteer education-leadership roles by providing financial grants to the schools where they serve.
Eligibility
An employee may apply for a grant if they serve, on an ongoing basis, in a formally designated or elected education-leadership role — for example:
- PTA/parent-organization officer
- School board member
- School improvement team leader (or similar formally structured leadership role)
To receive a grant, the school must be an accredited public or non-public school serving pre-kindergarten through 12th grade. A public school qualifies as a government unit and does not need separate 501(c)(3) tax-exempt status; an accredited non-public school must be recognized as tax-exempt under IRC Section 501(c)(3) (or an equivalent governmental/tax-exempt status) to receive a grant.
What grants can fund
Grants support specific projects designed to enhance the school's educational programs, such as:
- Curriculum enhancement or expansion
- Enrichment courses
- Special training for teaching staff, administrators, or school board members
- Guest speakers for students or staff
Award terms
- The company grants funds directly to the eligible school on the employee's behalf, up to a set maximum per project (for example, up to $2,000).
- Limits typically apply per employee per calendar year (one award) and per school per calendar year (a maximum total amount), to spread support across participating schools.
Responsibilities
| Role | Responsibility |
|---|---|
| Employee | Completes and submits the grant application; provides progress reports on awarded grants if requested. |
| Review Committee | Meets periodically (for example, quarterly) to evaluate applications and award grants. |
Administration
Participation in this program creates no entitlement, and the company may amend or discontinue the program at any time.
