Sick Days Policy
The Company provides paid sick time in the form of vacation days. Sick leave may be taken when an employee is unable to report for work due to illness. The Company may request that the employee furnish a doctor’s certificate or other reasonable proof when absent for three (3) days or when circumstance warrant, such as situations where questions arise concerning the legitimacy of the absence or whether the absence may qualify for Family Medical Leave (FMLA).
Where a state or local paid-sick-leave law applies to an employee's work location, the Company will provide paid sick leave in accordance with that law's accrual, use, carryover, and documentation requirements (including any limits on requiring a doctor's note) to the extent they are more generous than or otherwise differ from this policy. Employees should contact Human Resources with questions about the specific rules that apply to their location.
General information, not legal advice. Treat this as a drafting starting point, not a finished policy — employment law varies by jurisdiction and changes often, so have a licensed attorney tailor it to your situation before you rely on it.
